Edel is a solicitor and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland in 2013. From an early stage in her legal training, she recognised the benefits of mediation as a low cost, time effective and ultimately more rewarding process for parties involved in disputes and she decided to specialise in this area. She established Midwest Mediation in 2010 and developed her mediation practice in tandem with her legal career.
Edel is a practising solicitor specialising in civil and criminal litigation in addition to being an accredited mediator with the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland (MII) since 2010. Since qualifying as a mediator, she has worked with a variety of groups in the education and business sectors in addition to families and separating couples.
Edel offers a solution focused approach, while prioritising cost and time efficiency. She guides the parties through the mediation process as expeditiously as possible without compromising the quality of the work done by the parties. She is also mindful of children’s needs throughout the process, and encourages parents to enable their children’s views to be heard within the process, should that be what both parents wish.
Edel is empathetic and compassionate in approach, and offers a comforting, yet direct and professional mediation process. She has many years of experience in dealing with relationship breakdowns and the related legal, financial and emotional issues that arise from the painful process of separation. Edel has developed a passion and skill set for mediating all issues of relationship breakdown.
Edel will work with you to achieve your best possible outcome in a gentle yet purposeful manner, with an aim to facilitating agreements at the earliest opportunity.
